Advanced Stream's Funny Commercial Wins Slappy Award!

Advanced Stream, a Tacoma ISP offering cable modem service, has won the 2008 Slappy Award. Advanced Stream's spot, "You Need A Cable Modem" was nominated in the Funniest Commercial Catagory Award.

   Taking home this years Slappy Award was Harmonius Wilbury, the spots star actor, who recieved the award on behalf of himself and his cousin Marion Wilbury, who could not attend the event. This is the first time a concept commercial has won the over all catagory.

   The humorous spot features Harmonious Wilbury tring to fix his uncle Marion's computer. Advanced Stream's commercial was filmed as a spoof, yet continues to gain fans.




     The Slappy Awards are the world's largest funny video competition, with over 519,000 votes cast in the 2007 edition for finalists in 45 categories. Nominations for 49 categories ended November 1, 2008 and voting began October 1, 2008. Final results were announced on November 16th Slappy World & New Media Expo in Las Vegas.
