Washington Transportation Secretary Paula Hammond says Interstate 5 (I-5) at Chehalis could be closed for four days.

This is similar to the flooding that occured in December of 2007, which caused a four-day blockage on the main north-south route in Western Washington.
About 10,000 trucks a day travel I-5, and the financial impact of the closure on freight movements is about $4 million a day.
The only detours of the area are on either I-84 or SR 14 to US 97 or US 395.

WSDOT says there are two separate areas of I-84 that are currently reduced to a single lane in each direction. These ares are milepost 46 near Cascade Locks, and milepost 64-66, east of Hood River.
Drivers should expect lengthly delay if using this route.
