Low land Snows hits the Pacific Northwest

Schools and business have closed their doors due the weather.  Most of the major highways faced gridlock as heavy snows pounded the area.

Plunging temperatures, that are expected to reach the mid teens over night, will cause the road surfaces to freeze. State and local road crews have been working around the clock tying to keep the roads passable.  

Saturday brings a renewed threat of heavy snows, freezing rains and high winds. Stay tunes to Tacoma Herald, your favorite news source for developing information.

Let's hope it warms up! It can get cold around here. I have seen pictures of the Columbia River frozen solid. Here is a video of Gig Harbor frozen solid. Get those studded tires ready!
